"Child, your sins are forgiven..."

When was the last time we actually rejoiced, or at the very least showed support, at the sight of a sinner who sought for healing and forgiveness from the Lord? In today’s Gospel we find two kinds of people – those who help carry the weak and the suffering at the Lord’s feet for them to experience healing and forgiveness; and, there are those who easily question, doubt and dismiss any work of healing and forgiveness from the Lord. Our lives are peopled with those types of individuals. We thank the Lord for them especially those who help us carry our worries and pains to the Lord. We take greater consolation at the sight of the Lord who even though we are pinned down on our own mats by our own woundedness and by the incredulity of some individuals, the Lord continues to look at us with loving mercy and kindness, hears our cries, forgives our sins, and beckons us to “stand up, pick up our mats,” and to move on with our lives with deep joy.

Entangled

Entangled
Sometimes one would just find himself or herself in a situation one cannot simply escape from -- i.e. school requirements or corporate demands, expectations from family or peers, or purely the result of a bad decision from the distant past... Even though how much effort one extends, you just cannot entangle your self from it.
